Help give newly arriving international students a friendly welcome to the Champaign-Urbana community! Take part in IFI’s welcoming picnic at Hessel Park on Sunday, August 25th. We will have the grills fired up, introduce them to softball, throw bean bags and play some volleyball. Most importantly, we need you there to visit with our international guests! IFI will grill meats and provide buns, condiments and drinks. Students will RSVP their desire to attend and we are asking volunteers to RSVP as well. Volunteers should check with IFI on needed side dishes and desserts including some vegetarian options. We can advise on international food preferences. Letting us know of your ability to help transport students from campus will also be greatly appreciated. Let’s give our global guests a very warm welcome and open up many hearts to ongoing friendship and the opportunity to explore life’s most important questions while they are here in C-U!
